Cotton Ginning
STAR High Plains, Inc. offers complete ginning services
for production of Raw Agricultural Commodity ginned seed and gin trash
samples. Procedures for receipt of samples, production of gin trash and
production of ginned seed samples are documented by STAR Management
approved Standard Operating Procedures.
Equipment includes electronic balances
for weighing of samples, a Hardwick-Etter commercial stick and burr
machine and a Continental/Moss-Gordon research gin. Equipment has been
designed or modified to facilitate cleaning and collection of residue
samples.
The raw cotton requirements are a
minimum of 100 pounds for picker harvested cotton and 25-50 pounds for
stripper harvested cotton. From these raw cotton samples we will generally
produce a minimum 0.5 kilogram gin trash sample and a minimum 1 kilogram
undelinted cottonseed sample. Pricing is based upon number, size and type
of samples requested.
